Double view in the square court

The frame conditions are the following: on the one hand a street, then a near standing multistory office building and finally a slope with a wonderful view of the town. The owners wanted a single-story building and a low-maintenance garden.
The program (against clockwise rotation): workingspace for the wife, granny-flat (at the moment used by the 18year old daughter), living, sleeping. The sleeping rooms with a linking bathroom are visually seperated from the semiprivate living area. Inside of this system developed a weathered space, a courtyard. This courtyard is protected from wind and sight. The sleeping rooms and the bathroom have a lifted skylight which encapsulates the courtyard from sights of the office building. The courtyard illumintes the rooms from two sides and increases them visually. From this courtyard, through the living room, one can enjoy the panoramic view of the town.
